It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Professor
John Llewelyn Hopper.
Loving partner of Nguyen Anh Nguyen (Khang)
Beloved son of Muriel (dec)
and Victor (dec) Loved brother of Peter and David (dec) Uncle to Christopher and Chelsea

John was head of the Breast Cancer Unit in the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health. He had just chaired the first day of the International conference ‘Why Study Mammographic Density’ when he collapsed. John published over 1000 papers and supervised over 40 graduate research students. He also took on the role of Director of the Twins Research Australia. He was a Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor and an AO.

The family wishes that in lieu of flowers donations
be made to cancer research.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at Le Pine Funerals at 741 High Street, Kew East, 3102, 03 9859 9431 on Wednesday 13th November at 10.00am.
Private cremation to follow.
