Died suddenly at home in Gisborne, Victoria, August 2024, aged 74.

Only child of Bob and Mary McArthur,
pastoralists of the Western District of Victoria and the Riverina, and late of Mt Macedon.

Robert was a brilliant student and poet whose work was published in local and national magazines. A former resident of ANU Cottage and Havelock House, he was a familiar figure to many, black-haired, bespectacled, striding about the campus and Civic, and a good friend to those who had long known him. We mourn his death.

Private cremation.

His ashes will be buried in the family grave in Camperdown, Victoria.
