Alfred Lionel (Alf)

The Headmaster, staff and
students of Melbourne
Grammar School are
saddened by the death of
Alfred Lionel Lazer AM (OM 1942), a loyal Old Melburnian and member of the Witherby Tower Society, whose leadership, example, and support were greatly valued.

A committed athlete, Alf was a torchbearer at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games.

Through his service with the Royal Australian Air Force during the Second World War, he provided a living link for today’s students to those who had served.

He celebrated his 100th birthday at the School in 2025.

We offer our sincere condolences to his friends and family.
