WHITTON, Thomas Edward “Tom”
1951 – 2024

Bookseller, gardener and goose-wrangler. As co-owner of Megalong Books, Tom was an affable, compassionate and cheeky presence as he did the rounds of Leura and Katoomba for more than three decades (and at home for much longer).

He left us after a lovely last day with his wife Wendy at their second home of Yerranderie. We’ll miss him, but like to think that the ghosts of the old mining town have a treat in store as he starts his rounds anew.

Along with Wendy, he was (and remains) loved by sons Saul and Sam, his two (nearly three) grandchildren, and siblings Andrew, Robert, Mary and Diana.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at Leura Memorial Gardens at 12pm on February 20th.
