BARBER, Peter Douglas
Peter Douglas Barber, aged 72 years, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Sydney’s Northern Beaches on Thursday 6th November 2025.
The son of Douglas and Marjorie, Peter grew up in Caringbah. He shared many years of family life with Suzanne and was a committed father to Joshua and Mitchell. He was the proud grandfather (“Dada”) to Jones and Rosie. He is also survived by: Joshua’s wife, Chiara; Mitchell’s partner, Maggie; his sister, Susan; his niece, Holly; his nephew, Nathan; and his sister-in-law, Jacqueline.
Peter’s curiosity, intelligence and distinctive humour left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He was actively involved in social and political organising in his youth. He loved music, sound, electronics, and birdlife; and he shared his passions for cooking and fishing with his sons. Peter will be deeply missed by family and friends alike.
A celebration of Peter’s life will be arranged in coming weeks.
